Bridge of Life will be traveling to Guatemala for a screening and support project in Guatemala. This mission combines clinical capacity building, direct patient and donor support, and community-based chronic kidney disease (CKD) prevention.

November 14th is World Diabetes Day! Diabetes affects millions of people and is a major risk factor for kidney disease, heart disease, and other serious health complications. Early detection and proper management can help prevent these outcomes. Follow us to stay informed about upcoming health screenings in your area.

Bridge of Life is partnering with the Global Livingston Institute for a CKD Screening and Prevention Project in Kabale, Uganda. 8 volunteers will be joining us next February to screen around 2,000 community members for CKD and its root causes like hypertension and diabetes. We will also host trainings for Community Health Workers as they treat and educate high-risk patients throughout the year. Dates Not Confirmed.

March 11th is World Kidney Day! Your kidneys play a vital role in filtering waste and maintaining overall health, yet kidney disease affects over 850 million people worldwide. Early detection through screening can save lives and prevent serious complications. Bridge of Life will be in Guatemala to preform AV Fistula Surgeries and provide training to local health professionals. We are seeking vascular surgeons, anesthesiologists, CRNAs, and RNs (Spanish a plus) to provide patient care and help training local clinicians. Volunteers will support surgery, patient care, and education to improve access to dialysis for underserved patients while strengthening long-term capacity. Dates Not Confirmed.
